I was surprised to find that replacement notebook batteries had come down so much since the last time I checked, so I had no trouble risking twenty-five bucks or so on a no-namer when I saw this. The HP Pavilion dv5 battery came in pristine condition, but with no documentation. I don't know where another reviewer got their instructions to "calibrate" the battery by letting it run down until the computer shut itself down, but I tried that on my first charge. The computer would read about 50% or so, then shut off abruptly (this happened the first few times, at least). But after a while, things began to act normally. The HP Pavilion dv5 battery meter on my laptop now reads all the way down to 10% or so before shutting down properly(hibernating).

Great HP Pavilion dv5 battery, quick shipping. It was nice to get a replacement lap top battery that actually works. It is nice to find a reputable company. I ordered a new laptop battery for my HP Pavilion laptop. Everything seems to be working fine now. I have a experienced a couple of times where it said the battery wasn't charging, but I think it is more of an issue with my computer than it is the actual HP Pavilion dv5 battery.
