Why good signal in winter but bad in spring and summer?

The trees between you and the tower have leafed out, most likely. AT&T Acquiring T-Mobile


Big news trending in US these days is the merger of T-Mobile by AT&T. On Monday AT&T confirmed that they will use new AWS spectrum which was gained by them by acquiring T-Mobile, AT&T confirmed that they will use this AWS spectrum for their 4G LTE network. AT&T have acquired –Mobile in $39 billion but that doesn't solved the low network coverage of AT&T. Yeah, the network coverage area of AT&T will increase by this merger but the fact is that the customers of T-Mobile will automatically become the costumers of AT&T and the situation of bad signal strength will remain the same. AT&T have acquired T-Mobile just for AWS spectrum which will help them to provide 4G services all over the country but it will not solve the low coverage problem of AT&T's customers.



AWS spectrum is only for providing 4G services and we all know that how important 4G service is for careers and how badly they want to gain control over the 4G network. AT&T have done this merging just to take control over the 4G business and now they will deliver 4G services to 95% population of the country. Problem here is that they still do not have the solution to low network coverage problem and even this merging will not improve it. Now the fact is that the customers of AT&T will increase to more than double by the end of merging process and so the number of people facing low network problem will increase drastically.

More Cell Phone Signal and Brain Cancer Relation

New report on CNN that got published recently draws evidence to cell phone usage and possibility of brain tumor. Now the recent report is not something that is already out their in the public domain. This report just draws in more diverse voices stringing in more results. The study claims that a cell phone is emitting microwaves similar to those that get used to cook your food in a microwave. The food gets cooked or warmed in microwave by heating the water molecules in the food products. In a similar fashion the cell phone radiation basically cooks your brain. Now the study do acknowledge that the gestation period of this cause and effect to show up is about 34 years and we have only been using cell phones for about 15 years and in essence can't categorically prove that the cell phone has this kind of effect but again the scenario after 34 years does not inspire confidence either. I like to draw the analogy to Global warming, where the results are not in conclusively but gives pause to the thought that, it is better to be safe then sorry.

Now the good news is that the effect of radiation is inversely related to the distance at which it is held to the head. The radiation effects drops dramatically when using head phones or Bluetooth. Now, a cell phone booster system can keep the radiations low as well, how? The cell phones that work hard to maintain a certain signal strength works double time to achieve the desired results, that is also the same time the cell phone emits radiation due to the extra work, Kind of like you perspire more when you are working harder. 6 Tips for Safer Cell Phone Use

1.Children and youth under 20 shouldn't use cell or wireless phones except in emergencies.

2.Keep cell phones turned off unless absolutely necessary. When they are on, don't carry them in your pocket or against your body. Keep the back of the phone, where the antenna is, facing away from your body.

3.Use a headset or wireless headphone with low power. This removes the phone from right beside your brain.

4.Use your phone only when/where the signal is good. In marginal areas, it steps up its power output, so you are exposed to more radiation.

5.Text rather than talk. It uses less power and exposes you less. If you need to talk, use your phone on speaker, and keep it further from your head. If you place it on your lap, use a barrier (like a book) between your phone and your body.

6.Pregnant women should keep cell and wireless phones away from their abdomen, and everyone should keep cell and wireless phones away from babies, children and youth.

Whenever possible, Dr. Davis advises people to use a land-line for phone communications. Land lines work without emitting radiation, and will continue to work when the power goes out.

Until the safety of cell phone use is established conclusively, it seems the best approach for users is to err on the side of caution. The tips outlined above are practical and easy to implement, while enabling users to continue to enjoy the benefits of wireless communication.

In which case the omni directional antenna will trap signal from multiple towers for the frequencies specified in its design. The omni directional antennas are not as sensitive as the Yagi antennas, however they are more useful in situations with multiple carriers with multiple tower locations.

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) are solid light bulbs which are extremely energy-efficient. When first developed, LEDs were limited to single-bulb use in applications such as instrument panels, electronics, pen lights and, more recently, strings of indoor and outdoor Christmas lights.

Manufacturers have expanded the application of LEDs by "clustering" the small bulbs. The first clustered bulbs were used for battery powered items such as flashlights and headlamps. Today, LED bulbs are made using as many as 180 bulbs per cluster, and encased in diffuser lenses which spread the light in wider beams. Now available with standard bases which fit common household light fixtures, LEDs are the next generation in home lighting.

The high cost of producing LEDs has been a roadblock to widespread use. However, researchers at Purdue University have recently developed a process for using inexpensive silicon wafers to replace the expensive sapphire-based technology. This promises to bring LEDs into competitive pricing with CFLs and incandescents. LEDs may soon become the standard for most lighting needs. How to Add USB to Dreambox 500S

The Dreambox 500s  is a satellite receiver designed to play free-to-air programming produced in an MPEG-2 or MPEG-1 video format. The receiver does have a USB port, which allows you to update the installed firmware whenever there is a newly released upgrade for the hardware. Adding a USB device to the DreamBox 500S only takes a minute or two to complete.

  • USB flash drive

Power down the DreamBox 500S. The hardware must be turned off before adding a USB device.

Plug the USB hardware into the USB port of the DreamBox 500S, located on the back of the receiver.

Power on the receiver and it automatically detects the connected USB device, uploading any upgrades or firmware saved on the hardware.
